SPP outing...
Sunday, October 26, 2008

Well....Well....Another week has left us. School has been quite peaceful so far with little assignments to be done but I expect the worse soon. Week 3 is coming and I'm getting ready to shift to full throttle.

Yesterday, I went for an outing with SPP Club to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Before that, I went to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve for the volunteer's orientation session. Yeap! You've guessed right. I've signed up as a volunteer. One of my job scopes is to guide the visitors along the reserve. I must say that it was fun to meet people from all walks of life. Since I am a nature lover, I really like this job a lot. After my orientation session, I made my way to the Bukit Batok MRT Station to meet the rest of the members.

When all of the members arrived,we were divided into groups and I was in the green group. After that, we made our way to the bus station to board the bus 852 to the reserve. We were greeted by families of monkeys when we reached the foot of the hill. My group went to the green route for our trekking and photo taking. It's been ages since I've done trekking and although I felt tired, the fun that my group had helped me to get rid of the tiredness. The green route that we went to consisted of rugged terrain with high elevations and we took a lot of pictures along the way. We finally reached the summit after slightly more than 1 hour of trekking. After spending about 15 minutes at the summit, we made our way down and by then, it was close to 5pm.

That wasn't the end of my day YET!!

A few of the SPP members and I made our way to Marina Square to have our dinner at Long after which, a night photoshoot at One Fullerton and Fullerton Hotel itself. We managed to catch a glimpse of Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew doing his stroll along the river front at One Fullerton with his bodyguards surrounding him. Outside Fullerton Hotel, we decided to do something creative. We came up with the ghostly images of ourselves and it took us about 1 hour to get that perfect shot. By then, it was a few minutes past 10pm and we decided to call it a night. What a marvellous way to end our day. Ok...Here are the photos:

Friendship
Tuesday, October 21, 2008

There will be many people who will
walk in and out of your life but
only true friends will leave their footprints behind.

A friend is someone who can see
the truth and the pain in you even
when you are fooling everyone else.

True friendship ought never to conceal what it thinks.

A friend is one who knows who you are,
understands where you have been,
accepts what you have become,
and still gently allows you to grow.

The lamp of friendship always burn with the oil of love.

I asked God for a flower,
and He gave me a garden.
I asked Him for a tree and
He gave me a forest.
I asked Him for a river
and He gave me an ocean.
I asked God for a friend
and He gave me...YOU.

It is a fragile thread that binds us together,
so handle it with care.

When the world gets dark,
friends are the batteries in your flashlight.

A partner in crime, a thief of time,
you will always be there for me in the end,
you are always my dearest friend.

I found a friend who made me smile.
We fell in love, it's quite worthwhile!
For she is mine forevermore;
a friend, a lover, mi amor!

In the cookies of life,
your friends are the chocolate chips.

One of the best feelings in the world is to touch
and warm someone's heart,
whether it be your love or just a friend,
almost nothing can feel better.

An acquaintance is a jewel;
a true friend is a treasure.

Another week..

Alas! This week is coming to and end. School has been quite laid-back merely because it's the first week of the new semester and the lectures have yet to shift gears. Apart from studies, I am going to enjoy this semester to the fullest because this would be my final semester. Time really flies and I felt like as if I just enrolled into SP yesterday. I've a very mixed feelings about this final semester and I don't know how to explain the feelings. Anyway, Friday was the release of the results for the project group who made it to Spinnovex. It's comforting to know that my group actually made it and never expected my group to be in Spinnovex.

For those of you who have no idea what Spinnovex is, it's actually an event that would be held in January next year where good projects are showcased to the public during the SP openhouse. OMG... I can't really wait for it. That would mark a good ending to our chapter of life in SP.

For now, I will just focus on studying the rest of the modules and trying not to get too carried away regarding Spinnovex....Laters..

Hello again...
Monday, October 13, 2008

Hello again people! Here I am blogging away in the wee morning of the first day of school. It really doesn't matter to me as my first lesson starts at 2pm. Alright! Here's what I've been up to lately :

7TH OCT

I went for the photography outing with my club to Labrador Park. It was raining cats and dogs initially and almost wanted to abort the outing but the rain subsided eventually. Only 11 people went for the trip but nevertheless, it was enjoyable. The park was a good place to take pictures of sunsets. Ok.. Here are my photos.

8TH OCT

I had a casual outing with Riduan, Nasir and Badriyah at Bugis Junction and if I can remember correctly, this is our first outing together. I mean as in only the 4 of us. We had such a great time chilling out and yakking away at The Coffee Connoisseur. It was kind of a last minute plan but the outing turned out well. We didn't take many photos during this outing.

Bottoms up!

11 OCT

It was Jalan Raya. I and another 5 of my friends went visiting to each other's home from morning till evening. We started with visiting Nasir's home in the morning and ended with my home around 6pm. Although most of us felt tired, our spirits were high. We sampled a lot of great cooking in every house.:D Ok.. To make it short and sweet, I will let my photos do the talking now.

Sorry for the lack of photos here as the rest are quite distorted. I will post more here when I've received the photos from my other friends. Stay tuned.

I'm back again
Monday, October 6, 2008

Well, here I am back blogging again after a few days of absence. Lots of things happened over the past few days.

5TH OCT

It was my birthday yesterday and I am a year older now. Can't believe that I am more than 2 decades old now. Guess what I got? I got a keyboard from my parents. A Yamaha PSR-413. Well, it's not that I literally got it from parents but they gave me the money to buy it as they have to work on a weekend. But still, a very big thanks to my parents. Not many people know that I have an interest in music. I used to play piano more than a decade ago and now, I've totally forgotten how to play everything. I've been playing with my keyboard since I unpacked it and now I am trying to master one of my favourite music pieces, "Canon In D". Well, here are some of my keyboard photos :

3RD-4TH OCT

I had a chalet outing with SP Photography Club at Aloha Loyang and it was such an enjoyable gathering. I managed to make some new friends, etc. During this chalet, it happened to be a birthday celebration for 2 committee members of the club. How fun was it for the rest of us to cream and soak them. Hahahaha... It was ironic for me as my birthday was also the day after the chalet but they don't know. They never discover my secret. If they did, I would have suffered the same fate as the 2 committee members. Thus, I just kept quiet and joined the rest of the poeple to sabotage them...Wahaha.. After all those sabotaging, we sampled the cake and continued mingling around.

In the wee morning of 4th Oct, I and a few more people relaxed by the swimming pool and star gazed. The skies were so clear that morning that majority of the constellations are visible. I was even lucky enough to catch some of the shooting stars. Most of us didn't sleep throughout the chalet and we continued yakking. I left the chalet at around 7am and took a bus home. Once I reached home, I took a shower and fell asleep. Only to wake up at 3pm. Ok, here are the photos courtesy of some other members from SPP :

Goodbye Ramadan ; Hello Syawal
Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Well...Well.. Here I am blogging in the wee morning of Syawal as I couldn't put myself to sleep. Probably because I am too excited to celebrate Hari Raya. It is a joyous occasion which Muslims around the world celebrate to mark the end of fasting. However, I must be thankful to god that I am able to celebrate Hari Raya as there are some people out there who don't even have a family to celebrate with, etc. My sympathy goes to them.

During the final day of Ramadan, I marked the day by breaking fast for the last time and after which I headed to the void deck for the religious ceremony. During the ceremony, I and the rest of the fellow muslims recited "Takbir".

“Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Besar,
Tidak ada tuhan melainkan Allah dan Allah Maha Besar,
Allah Masa Besar dan bagi Allah segala puji-pujian.”

“Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Besar, Allah Maha Besar,

Well then! Looks like my eyes are finally going to give way. I will post again at the later part of the day after visiting my relatives. Till then, it's goodbye for now.
